8 Dazzling Wedding Venues in Greece, From a Vow Coach and Ceremony Officiant

Greece — a country defined not only by its beautiful natural landscapes and rich history, but also by its unparalleled hospitality. In fact, there is a word in Greek that I think sums this up quite well: meraki, or the act of doing something with genuine love and care. It is this authenticity, this dedication to leaving a piece of yourself in all work you do, that truly sets Greek culture apart.

And when it comes to weddings, Greece never disappoints. Whether you’re on Santorini, Ios, Rhodes, or another of the Greek islands, there is no shortage of one-of-a-kind wedding venues for you to choose from. If I’ve piqued your interest, follow along as I highlight eight standout venues perfect for a Grecian destination wedding!

1) Ios Club in Ios

We begin our journey on the island of Ios, surrounded on all sides by the clear blue waters of the South Aegean Sea. Established in 1968, the Ios Club is one of the island’s most coveted event venues, and for good reason — a sunset terrace with an authentically bohemian feel; a team of dedicated wedding experts who specialize in luxury elopements; an idyllic backdrop for those just-married photo-ops; and, last but not least, an extensive menu of bespoke cocktails and unforgettable Mediterranean cuisine.
And, with a capacity of up to 120 guests, the Ios Club is particularly well-suited for mid-sized wedding celebrations.

So, if you’re searching for a venue that brings equal parts artsy ambiance and oceanside romance, the Ios Club may be just the spot for you!

2) Canaves Epitome in Santorini

We arrive next on the island of Santorini, a destination wedding hotspot and home to three of the venues that appear on this list. The Canaves Epitome boutique hotel boasts several amenities, including a massive panorama balcony, a poolside lounge area, and even an award-winning restaurant on-site. Plus, for the geography aficionados, Canaves has an incredible view of the Santorini Caldera, a striking geological formation turned famous landmark.

If you’re looking to host a larger wedding but still want a bit of privacy, Canaves has you covered with their exclusive hotel buyout option — for the duration of your event, the entire property will be yours (and your guest’s!) to enjoy.

3) Le Ciel in Santorini

Le Ciel — also located in Santorini — is a venue best known for its staff’s 5-star, highly-personalized service and incredible menu crafted with local fresh produce sourced from around the Greek islands. And, if finding overseas vendors to meet all of your day-of needs sounds like more trouble than it’s worth, Le Ciel offers their own selection of event rental items to both help streamline the set-up process and ease the workload for you and/or your planner — Chiavari chairs, anyone?

With a capacity of 80 for seated guests and 120 for standing guests, Le Ciel hosts ceremonies on their terrace between the hours of 10am-12pm during Santorini’s busy season (May to September). If, however, you anticipate your ceremony running for longer, Le Ciel will offer a two-hour time extension upon request.

4) Rocabella Hotel in Santorini

Our final Santorini venue, the Rocabella Hotel, breathes new life into the word “luxury”. Located in the small historic village of Imerovigli, the Rocabella is off the beaten path enough for an intimate celebration but centralized enough for easy access to other parts of Santorini. It’s their unique local vendor partnerships (did someone say “live gyro carving stand”?), experienced staff who view event planning as an art form, and pristine outdoor ceremony + reception spaces that truly set this venue apart, though. For a healthy dose of both romance and cultural authenticity, look no further than the Rocabella Hotel!

5) Orizontes Estate in Attica

Our next venue, the Orizontes Estate, is located in Greece’s mountainous Attic Peninsula region. I have a particular appreciation for the Orizontes, as they often host beautiful multicultural weddings — like this ceremony, grounded in Lebanese traditions and customs. Their on-site chapel, the Saint Marina Church, is known for not only its striking architecture, but also for hosting deeply meaningful symbolic religious ceremonies. The estate even offers a deluxe suite for the couple’s exclusive use during their wedding day – perfect for a private vow exchange or a romantic dance break!

6) Palazzo di P in Zakynthos

A massive luxury villa on the island of Zakynthos, Palazzo di P is by far one of the most versatile venues on this list. Their variety of indoor + outdoor event spaces and proactive weather-contingency planning procedure make it easy for couples to pivot in the face of inclement conditions without sacrificing their event’s overall feel. You also needn’t worry about sourcing your own vendors, as the dedicated Palazzo di P team 0ffers the services of their own in-house caterers, planners, bar staff, and more. Great for large celebrations, the Palazzo villa can host up to 250 guests and provide overnight accommodations for you, your partner, and up to eight other members of your wedding party.

7) Kaminari Village in Rhodes

Looking for a venue that highlights Greece’s stunning natural beauty? You might consider checking out the Kaminari Village, located on the island of Rhodes. After all, in a country so often associated with its white sand beaches and oceanside views, there is something wonderfully refreshing about escaping to the countryside! The Kaminari venue, set on 30 sprawling acres of ancient pine forests and olive groves, is made up of a chapel, an outdoor amphitheater, a “village square” reception area, and several other traditional stone structures — some dating back to the 13th century! And, if you’ve got entertainment on the mind, consider hiring the Kaminari Village Band for a two-hour set of traditional Greek rebetiko music.

8) Courti Estate in Corfu

Our final venue, the Courti Estate on the island of Corfu, is perched along the coast of the Ionian Sea. With amenities like the estate’s heated infinity pool, professional kitchen space, and private chapel, it’s no wonder couples continue to choose Courti for their big days. With a capacity of up to 500 guests, this venue is also by far the largest on this list — a factor worth considering depending on the size of your own guest list. Best of all, the estate’s website offers a helpful wedding cost calculator tool to help ensure you stay on-budget without compromising your wedding day vision.
