When it comes to wedding destinations, almost nothing compares to France, especially not to Paris and its surrounding areas. For couples not afraid to lean into the City of Love, a unique, unforgettable experience awaits. From gorgeous historical estates, to art museums, to one of the most famous hotels in the world, I’m taking you on a journey through what I believe are some of the best wedding venues in and around Paris.

Shangri-La Hotel – Paris

We begin in the city of Paris itself at a classic location. Formerly the residence of Prince Roland Bonaparte, this 5-star hotel is rich with history. The venue offers bespoke wedding packages, and depending on which event space you choose, can hold up to 500 guests for a reception. Each room is the pinnacle of chic, with warm lighting, intricate chandeliers that combine a classic French style with a modern twist. Complete with a spa and a number of luxurious rooms and suites for you and your wedding party to stay (some with stunning views of the city), what is not to love?

Parc De Bagatelle – Paris

If rich florals and greenery are a non-negotiable for your wedding day, this adorable park is calling your name. Built in just 64 days after a bet between Queen Marie-Antoinette and her brother-in-law the Count of Artois, the mansion and garden are now part of the Botanical Gardens of the City of Paris. More than just a simple green space, the Park provides a lush backdrop of varied trees, rocks, artificial waterfalls, and even some peacocks who call it home. It’s a perfect spot for an intimate wedding, especially in the warmer months.

 The Ritz Paris – Paris

Also known as one of the most luxurious hotels in the world, the Ritz Paris is an absolute dream. Not only are you able to follow in the footsteps of many celebrity writers, artists, musicians and more, but you’re right in the heart of Paris. With the entire city bustling around you, you can celebrate your love in any of the indoor event spaces, which can host up to 210 guests, or in the Grand Jardin, with a capacity of 400.

That’s not all. You and your spouse can choose between several spacious suites, many with absolutely breathtaking views. The hotel is replete with opportunities to luxuriate, with a spa, boutiques, and, of course, the entire city at your feet.

Château de Bonaventure – Aulnoy

Truly, I think this venue speaks for itself. A private event here gives you access to the elegant reception room(s) of your choosing, or, if an outdoor event strikes your fancy, the outdoor event structures and the surrounding gardens and forest. Not only can the highly-experienced team customize your wedding with a number of possibilities, but there are also no concerns about where to stay. All 14 of the lavish suites will be reserved for you and your wedding party and/or guests.

Remember how I said you can customize almost everything here? You can also do that with the size of your ceremony. The reception spaces vary from capacities of 60 to 220 guests, so no matter how intimate or large you want your celebration to be, there’s a place for you here.

Homanie Paris Château – Essonne

This is another venue for those looking just outside the City of Love. This breathtaking château is just 45 minutes south of Paris and provides a vast selection of spaces to celebrate your love. It’s no surprise, considering the 13th-century estate spans over 6,000m² and includes a reception hall, a chapel, and an orangery. That’s on top of 20 bedrooms (including 11 rooms and suites), 10-hectare gardens, and endless amenities. With a combination of  historical and modern touches, this venue is an absolute dream.

Hotel National Des Arts et Métiers – Paris

Travelling back into Paris now, we find ourselves at a venue that’s all things sleek and modern, in keeping with the sophisticated, minimalist aesthetic that’s currently in its heyday. This hotel is perfect for a more intimate wedding, with its gallery hosting up to 150 people for a cocktail hour and up to 50 people in a few of its smaller areas. It also features a rooftop that you and your spouse can reserve for your reception, which features stunning views of the city. Not only that, its six floors of spectacular rooms are sure to add to your experience.

Musée Rodin – Paris

Yes, you read that correctly: the Rodin Museum. For any art connoisseurs or those well-acquainted with history, this venue is a daydream come to life. Speaking of daydreams, you can host all the guests your heart desires. The museum’s reservable spaces can host a grand total of up to 1,500 guests. A primarily evening venue, this museum boasts the Hôtel Biron, exquisite sculpture gardens, and a restaurant that can host up to 100 guests for a cocktail hour, dinner, or buffet. If you’ve ever wondered if your wedding venue could inspire your creative spirit, the proof is right here.

Le Pavillon Dauphine Saint Clair – Paris

We end our journey still in Paris at another venue with a capacity of up to 1,500. And trust me, this is an experience you will want to share. This venue is magnificent — and every synonym there is. This venue boasts many exquisite rooms, but the Salon Dauphine is utterly incomparable. The Belle Epoque style room is resplendent, dotted with chandeliers dripping in warm light and decorated with authentic moldings restored by the Versailles School of Art. This venue is a haven in the heart of Paris, surrounded by the hustle and bustle and yet secluded. It is truly a gem worth admiring.
